I have been a student at Guitar Movement for about two years, and it's been incredible to witness their growth from a small, cozy space into the nice school it is today. What hasn't changed, however, is the exceptional quality of instruction.

I have the privilege of learning from three incredibly talented teachers. Each brings their own unique style, tips, and skills to the lessons, which constantly renew my passion for guitar. More importantly, each teacher has a unique eye for spotting specific areas where I can improve—feedback that is truly invaluable.

Here, I feel very supported and challenged to progress and be better. It’s a truly enriching experience that builds both technical ability and confidence.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to learn guitar! I’m currently enrolled in Grade 8 with Joel’s team, and both Joel and Andrew have been fantastic teachers. They’ve helped me better understand music theory, scales, and how they relate to the songs I play. Their improvisation tips have also been incredibly helpful in taking my playing to the next level. Brought my guitar over for full setup, restring and cleaning. Less than a day was completed and the guitar sounded way better than before after some adjustments done and feel more comfortable when playing.

I have been playing the guitar for many years. I am self-taught and have reached a point where I have stagnated. I decided to sign up for the Intermediate lessons recently.

I am now about halfway through and am not disappointed at all. After just a few lessons, my understanding of the various scales have dramatically improved. I am able to solo and improvise quite effortlessly, something that I’ve been struggling to do prior to taking lessons.

Instructor Joel is fantastic; he makes every lesson interesting and come alive with practical applications after the theory portion. I would highly recommend aspiring guitarists to sign up for lessons here; I wish I had done it sooner…😎

It’s was a great experience learning with Joel. As a beginner, I went for the trial lesson to find out more and ended up taking up lessons weekly. Every lesson was enjoyable and I learnt so much from Joel! Would recommend anyone who wants to take the first step to learning guitar!

Maintenance was done in July 2025. Brought my Fender Jaguar Bass for a long overdue setup/maintenance. Joel was professional and patient. Did a marvellous job with cleaning and setting it up back to the way it was before maintenance. Feels almost brand new out of the box like when I first bought it more than 10 years ago. Would definitely go back to him for further works in the future.

​I’ve loved my lessons here so far with Andrew - we’re very flexible in terms of my learning pace and with wrangling full time work with lessons and always really fun - a highlight of my week.
